Today marks the 300th anniversary of the death of Blackbeard—the Robin-Hood-like American patriot and notorious privateer-turned-pirate, who lorded over the Atlantic seaboard and Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy chronicled in my historical fiction novel Blackbeard: The Birth of America.
